Couverture Desserts Ltd is a major supplier of luxury premium desserts to hotels, restaurants, catering companies, distributors and to the retail trade. Established in 1998 the company now manufactures over 10,000 desserts per day from its manufacturing site in the heart of Dublin city. The facility has a fully integrated quality management system. All products are manufactured using industry best practice QA and traceability procedures. Couverture are very proud of it’s QA standard’s and believe the company is significantly ahead of the market average and was delighted when it recently maintained its Grade A accreditation for B.R.C (British Retail Consortium).
Couverture has an extensive product range of fresh, frozen and chilled products. The range comprises of Gateau, Cheesecakes, Pies, Tarts, Puddings, Individual desserts, Mini assiettes and Afternoon tea. One of the key successes to the business has been that over time we have learned to develop patisserie products in a scalable format, offering chefs and retail buyer’s innovative products and offering a point of difference for their customer.

We recently shipped their first container of desserts (75,000 units) into the UAE market. The beauty of the products is that there is no shelf life restrictions as our products can be shipped by the container frozen.
Over the years Couverture Desserts has won many food awards from the Great Taste Awards UK to the Blas na hEireann where we have won gold three years in a row in the dessert category. 2012 was a significant award winning year when the company was awarded Best in Innovation 2012 with Supervalu and overall National Food Producer 2012 with Supervalu and Enterprise Ireland.
Couverture`s products and services can be divided into three main categories, Foodservice, Retail and Contract Manufacturing. Our Foodservice involves the manufacturing of dessert product offerings suitable for the catering trade. There are three routes to market Cash and Carry, direct delivery and frozen food distributors. Products for this category are 10” pre-portioned cakes, cheesecakes, and pastry products, individual versions of these and bespoke items for the event chef’s menu. The final destination of these products is a wedding event, race meeting, buffet, Sunday lunch or Christmas party. Our foodservice experience puts Couverture in an excellent position to forecast coming trends in the chilled retail sector.
In retail Couverture supply premium dessert products designed and packaged to be sold directly to the consumer through retail stores. Couverture delivers products that are value for money and where the product quality matches the price and expectations of the consumer.
